Arabic for Beginners
The course is intended as an Introduction to Modern Standard Arabic for beginners level. The programme seeks to develop the basic linguistic skills, along with developing an understanding of the principles of phonology, and the Arabic script. Our method of instruction exposes the language in a simplified and systematic approach.
Our curriculum has been designed to target the core aspects of attaining basic proficiency:
- Arabic Alphabet
- The basic syntax of simple sentences
- Learning necessary and useful vocabulary
- Structures for speaking & writing
- Basic script to read
- Self introduction
- Introduction to vowels: Fatha, Kasra, Dammah
- Root of words
- Greetings & Introductions
- Handwriting practice
- Gender of Nouns (masculine & feminine words)
- Arabic numbers
The primary goal at this stage is to develop competency while providing you with a context to practice and utilise your learning. Students will acquire the use of simple grammar structures through exploring various language activities, including audio and visual materials.
While we teach all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, our instruction focuses on the speaking skill, as we teach students to recognise all corresponding sounds through lectures, role-plays, drills, discussion and classroom activities. All our lessons are highly interactive and are expected to engage all activities fir benefits of learning.
Based on a step-by-step approach, the programme is divided into manageable learning blocks which focus on the practical and useful language.
